Fair Use Project?

What is The Fair Use Project?

The Fair Use Project exploratory committee results and List of Artists Used

Conceptually, this mix is constructed of all original funk, rock, soul, and jazz breaks straight out of record crates. All the vocal hip hop tracks are mixed using the accapellas off of the original 12" singles, and all the beats that people are rhyming on are made by DJ Inform, using said breaks. Everything that is used in this project has been used in hip hop songs before, from the drums, to the basslines, to the melodies, this mix is what would happen if you threw all the ingredients in a big pot, shook it up a lot, and then laid it all out differently. Basically, instead of mixing songs, DJ Inform mixed all the individual pieces of different songs to make new ones. In Inform's words, "This has been a labor of love for me, and my intent is to show respect and admiration for the mixtape DJ's of the 90's, and to highlight the lineage of music from generation to generation. There's nothing new under the sun, just new ways of imagining." He sounds like a hippy. He also is writing this in the third person, don't tell anyone. NO MP3, YOUTUBE RIPS, WAV, FLAC, OR ANY OTHER DIGITAL FILE WAS USED TO CREATE THIS MIX. ALL FROM VINYL. RESPECT!
